Annual Show August 16-18

The Tuscarawas Valley Pioneer Power Association Inc.

The TVPPA was founded in 1963 by a group of steam enthusiasts from the Tuscarawas Valley. They felt that the area would support a steam show. They wrote up the bylaws of the association with the mission statement being "The purpose of this organization is to further the public's interest and appreciation of the power of the past that made our future bright."
The first "Show" was held  August 8 & 9,1964 at the Tuscarawas County Fairgrounds with ten Steam Engines and  about the same number of tractors in attendance. The first show was a success, with enough money being made to pay the bills. The show expanded to a three day show in 1966 and have held that number until today.
The forty eight Charter Members are almost all gone now, with only Shorty Miller remaining. Shorty is the only person to our knowledge to have attended all 51 shows.

We have lived with the bylaws set down by the charter members with only a few minor revision over the years, but Section 2 of our By-Laws have not changed, "It's purpose shall be for the preservation and perpetuation of antique power equipment and furthering the public appreciation of Antique Americana".

types of antique power are displayed and we encourage you to bring any type of labor saving device used either on the farm or in industry.
